The Namibian Standards Institution (NSI) is one of the key performance indicators (KPI) of the country’s national quality infrastructure. The Namibian Standards Institution (NSI) is established in terms of the Standards Act 18, of 2005. It is governed by the Namibian Standards Council (NSC). The expected results of the NSI Programme are an established and functional national standards body in Namibia, capable of :<\/p>

  • developing, adopting, and applying standards.<\/li>
  • providing accurate measurement traceability to the international standards (SI) through the metrology division.<\/li>
  • providing reliable testing especially for food such as fish and fishery products including shellfish, beef and agro-products and rendering food safety technical support to the aquaculture, fishing and other industries through regular tests conducted at the NSI Biotoxins and Microbiology laboratories at Walvis Bay and through NSI Inspection and Certification.<\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

    The MSC certification is in order with the standards of the Marine Stewardship Council to the MSC Chain of Custody Standard: Default<\/p>

    Version (Version 5.0) and MSC Chain of Custody Certification Requirements (Version 3.1). The regulator focusses on the different methods that impact the ocean on sustainability practice<\/p>

    Once the company gaining approval to do so from MSCI, apply the trademarks to certified fish and fish products within their scope of<\/p>
